Startup Europe Awards

StartUp Europe Awards (SEUA) is an initiative of the European Commission and Finnova Foundation, supported by the President of the European Parliament, the President of the Committee of the Regions, the Vice-President of the Economic and Social Committee and several members from the European Parliament.

More on Startup Europe Awards

SEUA is supported by the StartUp Europe Accelerator of the Finnova Foundation. StartUp Europe Awards presents a prize methodology for startups at local, regional, national and European level that fosters the open innovation and the collaboration between the different actors of the European ecosystem, through the private-public partnership to support entrepreneurs.

As country manager of startup Europe, DAW works directly with ecosystem partners to host the yearly selection of Belgian finalist for the startup Europe Awards. Within this context, DAW is able to ensure accurate female representation in the startup ecosystem and provide opportunity for international recognition and sustainability. DAW is committed to providing entrepreneurs with the right network and support required to grow their enterprises.

ME4CHANGE- Migrant Empowerment for change program

The scope of the ME4Change (Migrant Entrepreneurship4Change) project (Co-financed by the EP) is to create, improve and provide wider dissemination of support schemes for young migrant entrepreneurs, in particular those newly arriving to the EU, i.e. young migrants (18-34) legally-staying in EU and hosting countries for at least over a year, to help them in becoming self-employed and in building successful enterprise (profit- generating or with social objectives).

More on

The idea is to bring together organizations from different countries where migration is having a peak and to develop together innovative solutions for migrants’ inclusion, in particular for the youth (a key segment will be represented by female entrepreneurs) willing to start a business / boost the growth of their startups.

By mapping & sharing local as well as EU best practices, the ME4Change project will be a game-changer in all the Consortium countries, creating a success case to be replicated at EU level. The scope is to create a vital eco-system where young migrant can exploit their opportunities, grow and build business skills to grow as entrepreneurs.

This will be achieved by the provision of a powerful, multidimensional training program, including an innovative mentoring scheme offering the young migrant the opportunity of a short “on-the-job” training by the mentor (an experienced migrant entrepreneur) premises.

As part of the mentoring scheme, the young migrant entrepreneurs will have the chance to pitch in front of investors and relevant stakeholders during ad-hoc pitching events, which will have a transnational character.
